What your lawn needs changes throughout the year. Here's how GleeWork approaches lawn care across all four seasons in Middle Tennessee.
Early Spring
Summer
Fall
Winter
The fescue overseeding window in Middle Tennessee — including Crossville and Cookeville — runs from mid-August through mid-October. This is when soil temperatures are still warm enough for germination but air temps are cooling, reducing stress on new seedlings. Fall rainfall further aids establishment without relying heavily on irrigation.
Cumberland County soils are predominantly clay-based — compacted and slow to drain. Core aeration pulls small plugs of soil from the lawn, reducing compaction and opening channels for air, water, fertilizer, and seed to reach the root zone. Seeding immediately after aeration dramatically improves germination because seed falls into the holes and makes direct contact with soil.
This is the single most impactful thing most homeowners can do for a struggling fescue lawn on the Plateau — and we recommend it for nearly every lawn in our service area each fall.

"GleeWork has been mowing my lawn all summer and I couldn't be happier. They show up on schedule every single week without me having to follow up. My yard has never looked this clean — the stripes are perfect and they always edge and blow off my driveway. Nathan runs a very professional operation."

"Really nice working with Nate, very professional. I've had them on a recurring mowing schedule and they've been incredibly consistent — never missed a visit. They also took care of some overgrown beds while they were there. Great team."
